Psalms 127:3

Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, offspring, a reward.

I moved to Alaska in early 2014 with a suitcase and hope for a summer full of adventure, including a post-college internship. I ended up on the biggest adventures of my life; marriage, motherhood, and small business ownership.

I met a handsome redhead who slid into my DM’s one September afternoon. He took me pack rafting October 7th, 2014. We laughed and talked and floated our way down the Matanuska River as our hair, gloves and paddles built up with ice. WHAT. He was definitely an adventure.

I guess something he did worked because I married him 2 months later.

By 2016 we had bought 50 acres in the woods and began building our log cabin by hand.

In the early winter of 2018 I had a baby boy on each hip and was itching to get creative and learn new skills during the dark winter months. I began making metal stamped jewelry and was so happy to create several keepsakes for friends and family. I also began playing around with knots and cord, learning as I went. Lots of messing up, untying and retying.

2020 saw two small boys at home and the loss of our third son, but God is still good. By fall I was able to have several macramé designs made and ready for sale when Tammy at Chickadees Gift Boutique reached out asking if I’d be interested in selling in her store in Wasilla. An amazing opportunity and a new focus for my creativity.

I’ll always be so grateful to fellow women who lift each other up and share in success.

In March 2021 my budding macramé business expanded and I began selling inside Tracy’s Treasures in Wasilla, who was voted 2021 Best New Small Business in the Mat Su Valley.

September 2021 brought the birth of our youngest beautiful baby boy. With that a new, busier, time in life began.

The beginning of 2022 I began organizing classes and myself along with several women enjoyed evenings together making macramé plant hangers and wall hangings. I so enjoyed meeting so many wonderful women and sharing the joy of creating beautiful things! I’m excited to continue classes this winter and meet even more lovely women in Alaska.

In May of 2022 I once again stretched my small business muscles and began offering my designs inside Serendipity Art AK in Anchor Point, Alaska. Daphane does an incredible job curating products made here in Alaska by local Alaskans. What an honor to be included!

This summer, June 2023, I began the process of designing coloring books. Each digitally created drawing something I would personally enjoy sitting down and coloring. I’ve self-published several now and the process has forced me to learn new skills and perseverance. I have a brand new coloring book directed towards younger kids, as requested by many of my wonderful mama-friends! They are linked on my home page.

It’s nearing the end of 2023 now and I’m so happy to be selling inside Tracy’s Treasures, Spunky Monkey coffee & shopping in Meadow Lakes, and Serendipity Art AK. Plus, if you’re ever in Talkeetna for a night away you may get to see my wall hangings decorating your airbnb!

Another baby BOY has joined our Sloan Circus and we couldn’t be happier to be surrounded by giggling, rough-housing, adventurous sons.

I’m a mama of 4 boys, a happy wife, and small business owner. I feel incredibly blessed to be here and bring people beautiful macramé designs for their home and office.
